Business Start-Up: Getting Started On Facial Aesthetics

Facial aesthetics is popular nowadays and many see it as among the ideal ways to venture further in their practice. As a dental surgeon, you have already equipped yourself with the knowledge of injections and facial musculature. All you need is to maximise it along with the other treatments you offer.

Here is a short guide we made to help you get started:

Attend a Training Course

The course you will take defines the knowledge you will learn, so choose training providers who can tell everything you need to know about facial aesthetics. Most importantly, they should provide support before, during and after your training. Our workshops are recognised training courses and fully accredited with Hamilton Fraser for insurance purposes. Apart from providing insightful lessons, we give out resources for you to study on your own.

Obtain Insurance

After the workshop, you will need to acquire additional insurance to indemnify your practice for treatments related to facial aesthetics. Choose a trusted cosmetic insurance company where you can buy the appropriate insurance for your practice. We recommend Hamilton Fraser personally because we have been with them for a while, but you can try other companies like Dental Protection and CEART.

Practice What You Learned

Ask a mentor to guide you. If possible, ask the mentor who taught you when you were still taking the training course because they have seen your progress. In most cases, people who are willing to become patients for practice treatments are family members and friends. Do not forget to take photos and let them sign consent forms. As you gain more confidence in providing facial aesthetic treatments, you can start offering them to existing patients and new patients.

At BTC, we offer accredited clinical workshops that help unlock profits from facial aesthetics. Our courses are open for GDC registered dentists, doctors and surgeons and NMC registered nurses. Feel free to browse through our homepage or contact us for more information.
